She was initially intended for the radiological safety of the Pacific Experimental Center which carried out experimental nuclear firing in the Tuamotu (Pacific Ocean).
In 1980, he was reassigned as the Command Center of the Fleet Training Center. Its specific facilities (hospital with surgical block) also allowed it to serve as a mobile health support building for naval force.
